SWITCHES
Nearly every electrical appliance you will ever operate has a switch on it or in it. While it is not possible for us to hold every type of switch on the shelf, we do have a large range of switches, which will suit a large range of applications. Basic types of switches are available.
TOGGLE
As displayed here, a toggle switch has many various switching patterns. Available in “single pole”, “double pole”, “triple pole“ and even “four pole” circuits anything from basic On-Off to On-On or On-Off-On. We have plastic bodied and metal bodied switches in various sizes and amp ratings on the shelf.
ROCKER
Rocker switches, as denoted by the way the switch ‘rocks’ in a cradle to make the switching action, are available in all shapes and sizes.
Rockers are much more varied than the toggle switch.
Where the toggle switch has a relatively standard mounting size, the rocker switch is infinitely variable.
Anything from mini-rockers at 12×14mm cutouts to large panel mounted cutouts at 35×40mm, with at least as many switching circuits as the toggle switch.
PUSHBUTTON
Pushbutton switches are activated by an up-down action. Some of the most common applications for a pushbutton switch is for your fridge door, or door bell. We have a small range of pushbuttons available in the Swann and Cutler Hammer ranges.
ROTARY
Rotary switches are a popular choice for applications which need many switching positions, however, the size is minimal, or it is not practical to have half a dozen toggle switches. For example your oven at home may have a rotary switch that turns your light on, your fan, and your light & fan. This would normally be achieved in one switch with 4 positions.
We hold one type of Swann rotary switch, as well as a large range of E.G.O.’s cam rotary switches. The E.G.O. rotary switches are fairly diverse with many switching positions and high amp ratings available.
TRIGGER
Trigger switches such as what is in the handle of a power drill are usually fairly specific to manufacture specifications. Thermal Products has a few trigger switches on the shelf, with or with out a locking pin.
MICRO
Micro switches are almost infinite in variation also. With so many possible applications, and they’re size being ideal, these are a high volume product. Swann, Cutler Hammer and TEND all supply different styles of micro switch, used in domestic, commercial and the automotive industries. Thermal Products hold a large selection on the shelf, as well as quantities available to us within a couple days.
MECHANICAL RUNBACK TIMERS
Mechanical runback timers are exactly that. They have a mechanical action that runs back over a period time (5min, 15min, 30min, 60min and 120min). Used in hundreds of applications such as washing machines, commercial toasters, microwave ovens, domestic heaters and the like. Our timers are Double Pole with normally open contacts.
