THERMOSTATS

Thermostats are the primary form of controls for domestic, commercial and industrial heating.

A thermostat is basically a switch, actuated by temperature. Most of thermostats below have the temperature sensor as part of the unit. But some require a specific type of input to work (like a thermocouple or RTD - for more information, please see our digital thermostat range below).

CAPILLARY

Capillary

Capillary thermostats are used predominantly in domestic and commercial applications. 99% of domestic ovens have a capillary thermostat in it as the primary temperature controller.

They are not as accurate as digital thermostats and usually a more cost-effective solution.

HOT WATER

Hot Water

Surface mounted thermostats are most frequently seen in domestic hotwater services. If you have an electric hotwater service at home, you will probably find one of these thermostats stuck to the side of your tank.

BI-METAL

Bi-Metal

Derwent Thermostats are made in Australia. They are low quantity surface mount bi-metal thermostats at fixed temperatures. Available in 3 body styles with many options, they will suit almost any application.

ROOM

Room

Room thermostats are generally used for controlling central heating/cooling systems. Thermal Products’ range suits most applications, and we stock/source a wide variety of brands. From simple on/off controls to programmable multi-period-per-day controls, we will be able to find something to suit your requirements.

DIGITAL

Digital

Thermal Products can supply process controllers or digital thermostats for industrial processes. Standard sizes are 48×48mm, 72×72mm or 96×96mm. We also stock a range of refrigeration style digital controllers (77×35mm) that come complete with PT1000 sensor.

STEM TYPE

Stem Type

Stem type thermostats are an older style of control, used mostly in domestic hot water systems or industrial processes. The stem type thermostat is very reliable, if a little old school. We have a range of domestic/dairy stem thermostats and we also have the industrial stem thermostats.

COMBISTAT

The combistat is a combination between a capillary thermostat and a capillary thermometer. Generally used in commercial applications such pizza ovens, they are not a very common part. We stock only a few of this form of thermostat.
